A guide who’s knowledge of the area is learned through experience and not by book, has the ability to tell stories, sing songs and carry traditions that have been passed down from generation to generation. If it’s a fully catered tour or non-catered tour, the depth of knowledge carried by our river guide team is second to no other operator on the Whanganui River making our Ki Tai team as unique as the river itself.
With that in mind make sure to bring with you any stories of your home, your place, your lands and rivers and see a synergy of peoples and places combined. This could be done by knowing a song of some sort from your homeland and if a guitar is near, we might share your voice with the world.
Guided or Freedom Hire, Catered or Non-Catered, our team will ensure that your experience is authentic, moving and at its worst give you memories to cherish for a lifetime. From drivers to guides, or even just our friendly site staff we’ll make things as easy as possible for you. Our guides are great company on any trips and the food they prepare for you just adds to the experience. In some cases, māori cuisine is on the menu making for an even more authentic cultural experience.
As ambassadors for the river, nature and its wellbeing, we will be sharing the river environment with those who keep the banks of the river humming day in and day out.
With this in mind, ‘Insect Repellent’ just might be a necessity if you’re expecting to ‘not’ be disturbed too much by the river’s local sandflies. This in most cases makes the experience that much more enjoyable.
